In “Permission to Dance,” BTS sing about choosing joy and moving freely, without waiting for anyone’s approval. They picture a heart pounding like a drum, colder nights and obstacles that keep appearing, and answer by dropping their plans and trusting that a fall will end in a safe landing. With nothing to prove, they stay up until sunrise, wanting to show their energy won’t fade, in a carefree mood that favors doing over talking.
